Machig LabdronCHOD - EMPOWERMENT AND TEACHINGS WITH VEN. KHENPO NYIMA, A HEART DISCIPLE OF H.E. LAMCHEN GYALPO RINPOCHE

We are especially looking forward to the visit of Ven. Khenpo Nyima, the heart disciple of Most Venerable Lamchen Gyalpo Rinpoche. Lamchen Gyalpo Rinpoche himself empowered Khenpo Nyima to transmit the Chöd teachings as taught by Lamchen Gyalpo Rinpoche.

We are very grateful that he will take the time to deepen this practice with us. It was Lamchen Gyalpo Rinpoche's wish that we do this practice once a month. We are still at the beginning of this practice and as a small group we would be very happy if other Chöd
practitioners would emerge from the practice with Khenpo-la.

Chod is a living Buddhist practice that has been widespread in Tibet for about a thousand years. The great practitioner Machik Labdrön is the best-known representative of this tradition. Chöd means to “cut through”. We “cut through” the grasping at a self that keeps
us from attaining profound insight. Overcoming ego-centric, habitual thinking and conduct allows the natural openness and clarity of our mind to manifest. This Tantric practice, in which one also gives away one’s own body in meditation, bound up with the highest
bodhicitta, was first taught in Tibet by the yogini Machig Labdrön (approx.1055 -1145). Ven. Khenpo Nyima’s teacher was Lamchen Gyalpo Rinpoche, who was one of the best known Chöd Master of the Drikung Kagyu Tradition.
